PUC Engineering faculty and students received the 2006 Computer Applications Best Paper Award for the paper entitled "Evaluation of Internal Conditions in a Blast Furnace Hearting Using a 3-D CFD Model", American Iron and Steel Technology (AIST) Association.
The authors of the papers are Dr. Chenn Q. Zhou (Professor of Mechanical Engineering), Dr. Fang Yan (Research Associate), and Mr. David Roldan (Graduate Student) from Purdue University Calumet, D. (Frank) Huang and Dr. Pinakin Chaubal from USA R&D Center of Mittal Steel Company, and Dr. Yongfu Zhao from the Research & Technology Center of US Steel Corporation.
