For the third straight year, Purdue University Calumet's undergraduate engineering program rates Best Program status according to U.S. News & World Report. In U.S. News' recently announced 2007 America's Best Colleges rankings, Purdue Calumet is listed among the Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs among universities, colleges and institutes whose terminal degree is the bachelor's or master's. Forty-six schools are recognized. "This is outstanding recognition for our faculty, alumni, students and the entire university," said Chenn Zhou, Purdue Calumet professor, head of the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering and interim head of the Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering. "Being considered a 'Best Program' university helps us attract more high quality students and enables our students and graduates to be more marketable." The results of a peer survey of deans and senior faculty generated U.S. News' undergraduate engineering rankings. Purdue Calumet offers four baccalaureate engineering degrees in each of the following disciplines: computer, electrical, mechanical and civil, as well as a Master of Science in Engineering through the Purdue University Graduate School.
