Purdue University Calumet, whose undergraduate engineering program earned "Best Programs" status in U.S. News & World Report's America's Best Colleges 2006 edition, will introduce an undergraduate civil engineering degree and three other engineering degree programs beginning fall 2006. Proposals to initiate Bachelor of Science degrees in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Computer Engineering were approved Friday (6/9) by the Indiana Commission for Higher Education (ICHE). The civil engineering degree is being introduced in response to a need for engineers to address northwest Indiana transportation and environmental issues. |
